poor Cupid uttered his last words……”tell Aphrodite I love her”.,and he alas was gone………..a beautiful ruby red rich rose bush now grows in the spot where he was slain!!
Cupid was arrested for murder , but got off “scott free” on a technicality, Aphrodite was mortified and subsequently turned into a rock!, Venus was so “cut up” she hacked off her own limbs!………….and Valentine?,well he just kept sending those cards!.
A truly sad and sorry story ……..but one with a message to us mere mortals……….forget the anonymous card stuff ………if you really love somebody just tell them, and a ruby red rose would not go amiss either!
