Fairytales do come true .. Following a messy, long and stressful divorce my son (aged 2) and I moved into a new house in a quiet town in October 2003. I was suffering with depression and felt at the end of my tether.
Then this happened…. 10 days after I had moved in, the empty house next door had a new occupier. He was tall, dark and very handsome (so bound to be taken )To be socialable I offered him a coffee and we chatted, then he left. From then on we would stop and chat when we saw each other. He too was a divorcee, going through a bad time as his children now lived over 600 miles away. In november 2003 he asked me out on a date, of which I agreed. From then on he swept me and my son off our feet.
Having been in a marriage full of lies, deceit and verbal abuse, then a battle through the divorce courts and narrowly avoiding bankruptcy, I would never have believed that I could ever experience true love like this man was showing me.
In May of this year this wonderful man and I married in the presence of both our children, and in true fairytale style we will live happily ever after.

Two years ago, my 40th birthday in 2007 seemed so far away. I resigned myself that I would be spending it along with both children and a chocolate cake with 4 candles on it, the children singing happy birthday to me and then, when the children had gone to bed, singing it to myself again…. alone.

whilst I wasn’t looking, it happened….. it really happened…. I fell in love!

Everyone warned me that I would only find true love if I stopped looking for it…. that’s when Julie walked into my life.

That was 18 months ago…. Julie has become the children’s best friend overnight. She moved in with us in March 2006 and was bestowed the title ‘Big Sister’ by my daughter and ‘Best Friend’ by my son. My grin will not go away… I am truly the luckiest man alive. Julie is beautiful, generous, kind hearted, gentle, a wonderful home maker….. I think that when you feel sooooo different about someone, perhaphs they could be your soul mate. Well, I do have that feeling every day….. I have my soul mate with me and….. in October of 2006 I romantically proposed….and she accepted. We are getting married in December 2007 and I can’t wait. Suddenly, the whole atmosphere in our home has changed…. the love that flies around our house is immense.

I do believe in a thing called love because….. when you least expect it and when you stop hunting it…. it appears and, boy oh boy, it can knock you off your feet and turn your life around so quickly. I am so happy now…. and it’s all down to a thing called love!

If I am perfectly honest, until december last year I was beginning to think that love was something that just wasn’t meant for me. 21 and 8 girlfriends later and yet none of them I truly felt for, I really liked them but it was more of a friendship thing, and then I met Catherine. I never realised what love was until I met her. She lives 126 miles away from me and she is only 17 and doesn’t drive so it’s not easy to see each other but every second of every day I miss her, After just one week of knowing her I did 1000 miles of driving in one week and used basically every penny I had on petrol just so I could spend time with her. Now as I have no money we have to spend 3 weeks apart and every second of it I think about her, I have awoken to find myself cuddling my pillow as I miss her so much. Ive now given her a webcam so we can see each other and there’s nothing I love more than to see her smile, it truly is the highlight of my day. Until I met her I thought love was
something for everyone else to enjoy and not me but now I’ve found her I’m the happiest I have been in, well, since I was born. Now I can’t wait until valentines day so I can see her again and I truly want to make it special but as money is short I’m not sure of what I’m going to be able to do, she tell’s me that just spending time with me is good enough for her but I just want to do something that will prove to her how much I feel for her.

Several years ago I went searching online for people who had attended the universities I was looking at transferring to in order to complete my degree. I happened across Mathew, who had actually attended two of them, and he and I started talking online. Four months later when I was first going to visit the universities he was my tour guide, and we instantly fell in love. We had our first kiss the night we met and when visiting an art museum later that week, we came upon a painting of the exact place where we had our first kiss! Mathew bought postcard reproductions for each of us; we couldn’t afford the bigger print reproductions. We decided we would buy a bigger one for ourselves as soon as we were married. We missed two rotations.

Almost exactly a year to the day we first contacted each other online, Mathew flew over to America to ask my father’s permission for my hand in marriage, and to propose to me. My father gave his blessing and Mathew proposed to me while we were having a picnic in a secluded part of a beautiful park. I moved to the UK four months later, and Mathew and I were married almost exactly a year to the day after that. After we returned home from our honeymoon, we bought the larger reproduction print of the painting for our new flat together.

Love brought us together and kept us together during the time for over a year where we saw each other only every four months. It was worth the long distance and the wait because now we will never be apart again.

this valentines, we were rung up thre day before by my partners daughter, who has been sacked from her job 100 miles away.

Her rent was due friday and she would be kicked out of her accomadation by Friday.

We decided we had to collect her today(14th) as she was suicidal.

Also got rung up by her at midnight to be told I went to Hospital with an asthma attack. After dischage she had no money and atempted to walk to her acccomodation.

We were on the phone until 3 am with the police sorting this and then up at 7 AM to drive down to get her.
